Hi! I'm Marilyn Doucette. Executive Chef and Owner of Meals From The Heart Cafe. Welcome to my personal health blog. Yes, this will be personal at times.

If you are on a similar journey, I would so like you to share what you are comfortable sharing with me and visitors to this blog.

I want to be transparent and honest with you. If I am reluctant to reveal, I won't. My condition(s).

Health "Stuff" became a bit out of whack, starting late 2020 -- Covid-19, business interruption, and staff retention some challenges to a name a few.

My Blood pressure became unstable. Unusual for me. I have been diagnosed as showing signs of hypothyrodism. Borderline Diabetic. For the most part, I have been predisposed. All of these disease threats I have kept at bay until . . . .

I turned 66. Age is a factor. A slower metabolism is a factor. A sedentary lifestyle is a factor.

With that being said, look at my bio-stats.

October 4, 2021, my new and current primary prescribed a second hypertension drug. I filled the prescription. I have not taken it yet. Instead, I am eating only the foods that I control. Low, low sodium and low, low, low sweeteners. Fingers crossed. No prayers for me. Trusting my dietary strictness will yield favorable results.

On Monday night at 9:00 p.m. I ate my last meal. Tuesday morning, blood workup. No results yet. I will report back. Pray for me. Wish me luck. Only good vibes. Thank you!

Oh! I had a fall. Forgot I had a (terrible) fall about 4-5 months ago. Add shoulder pain to the mix. I am undergoing physical therapy.

More Later.
